i’m sure there are a lot of shows with incredibly strong first episodes. but for me, it’s Lost. maybe prison break comes close. i still remember watching the pilot of Lost and having no idea how i was supposed to wait for the second episode. it almost felt like a feature film. the budget was obviously massive, the crash sequence was insane for television at the time, and i connected with the characters immediately. the casting was spot on. the ending, though? that was a disappointment.
