microsoft’s ai chief mustafa suleyman told fortune that within the next 12 to 18 months, ai will reach human level in almost all professional jobs. anything done behind a computer will be automated. accounting, law, marketing, project management, analysis. name it. according to him, creating a new ai model will become as easy as launching a podcast or writing a blog. every company, even individuals, will be able to design their own custom ai. sounds revolutionary. also sounds slightly convenient.
personally, this feels less like prophecy and more like positioning. distancing from openai, pushing microsoft ahead in the so called superintelligence race. bold statements move markets.
